lists2Topic: The Royal New Zealand Fencibles, a corp of retired soldiers from Britain and Ireland who arrived in Auckland, New Zealand 1847-1852 and formed the defence force which protected the early settlers of Auckland. 2500 men and their families arrived aboard the vessels Ann, Berhampore, Berwick Castle, Clifton, Inchinnan, Minerva, Oriental Queen, Ramillies, Sir George Seymour and Sir Robert Sale, and settled in Otahuhu, Onehunga, Howick and Panmure.
