Internet Help: GEN-IRC Mailing List
GEN-IRC-L
lists3Topic: anyone who has an interest in genealogy and is using or would like to use Internet Relay Chat (IRC) to communicate with other genealogists. There are a number of IRC channels relating to genealogy. This mailing list covers mainly those on NewNet but other Networks are welcome to use it as a general Genealogy-IRC list. The main purposes of this list are to enable a genealogist to communicate and set times for live discussions on IRC with other genealogists, post problems or ask questions relating to genealogy and IRC, and anounce new channels or topics of channels in genealogy and IRC.
For questions about this list, contact the list administrator at GEN-IRC-admin@rootsweb.com.
- Subscribing. Clicking on one of the shortcut links below should work, but if your browser doesn't understand them, try these manual instructions: to join GEN-IRC-L, send mail to GEN-IRC-L-request@rootsweb.com with the single word subscribe in the message subject and body. To join GEN-IRC-D, do the same thing with GEN-IRC-D-request@rootsweb.com.
- Unsubscribing. To leave GEN-IRC-L, send mail to GEN-IRC-L-request@rootsweb.com with the single word unsubscribe in the message subject and body. To leave GEN-IRC-D, do the same thing with GEN-IRC-D-request@rootsweb.com.
- Archives. You can search the archives for a specific message or browse them, going from one message to another. Some list archives are not available; if there is a link here to an archive but the link doesn't work, it probably just means that no messages have been posted to that list yet.
