Obituaries: GEN-OBIT Mailing List
GEN-OBIT-L
lists3Topic: If you are searching for descendants of a particular family group, this is the exchange group you want. It's easy (and quite addictive!) to do an index of your local paper, and you then have access to newpaper obituaries from across the world. If you become a contributor, you can request information look-up for a listed obituary. It's like receiving numerous newspapers a day to shuffle through the obituaries. You can also become a subscriber without contributing, but you don't get the frills. If you want to become a contributor, send a message stating so or asking for more information to gen-obit@rootsweb.com.
For questions about this list, contact the list administrator at GEN-OBIT-admin@rootsweb.com.
- Subscribing. Clicking on one of the shortcut links below should work, but if your browser doesn't understand them, try these manual instructions: to join GEN-OBIT-L, send mail to GEN-OBIT-L-request@rootsweb.com with the single word subscribe in the message subject and body. To join GEN-OBIT-D, do the same thing with GEN-OBIT-D-request@rootsweb.com.
- Unsubscribing. To leave GEN-OBIT-L, send mail to GEN-OBIT-L-request@rootsweb.com with the single word unsubscribe in the message subject and body. To leave GEN-OBIT-D, do the same thing with GEN-OBIT-D-request@rootsweb.com.
- Archives. You can search the archives for a specific message or browse them, going from one message to another. Some list archives are not available; if there is a link here to an archive but the link doesn't work, it probably just means that no messages have been posted to that list yet.
