Occupations: OK-101RANCH Mailing List
OK-101RANCH-L
lists2Topic: A mailing list for anyone with a genealogical or historical interest in the 101 Ranch and the people associated with it. When the Cherokee Strip opened in September 1893 George W. Miller's son Joe staked a claim, the beginning of the 101 Ranch, south of Ponca City on the Salt Fork River. The town was Bliss (Marland), Oklahoma. Over twenty plus years they leased/purchased land in excess of 100,000 acres. The ranch flourished until the 1930's when it went into receivership and pieces were sold until little remained. Members of the old-timers association have bought back part of the original property and are restoring as much as possible.
