This project entails Y-DNA testing for males with the Boyd and Hay surnames in order to establish genetic connections with cousins worldwide, compliment genealogical research through genetics, prove or disprove various theories of the origin of the Boyd name, and establish a genetic link with the Boyds of Kilmarnock.
