lists9Topic: The GIBBONS-YANCEY mailing list is for the discussion and sharing of information regarding the ancestors and descendants of the Gibbons and Yancey families who were neighbors on Capt. Yancey Road outside McGaheysville, Virginia. John Gibbons (1784-1866) and his wife Jane Elizabeth Keffer (1790-1869) established their Locustdale home in the early 1800's. Col. William Layton Yancey (1754-1813) and his wife Frances Lynn 'Fanny' Lewis (1763-1845) established their home at Hilltop farm in the latter part of the 1700's, and their son William Burbridge Yancey (1803-1858) and his first wife Mary Kyle Smith (1804-1845) established their Riverbank home sometime prior to 1845.
