WORLEY-L
lists9Topic: A mailing list for genealogical research and discussion of the surname Worley and it's alternate spellings (e.g., Warley, Werly, deWerly, Wherley, Whorley, Wirley, Wyrley, Wehrle). One of the original Worley families in America were English Quakers arriving in 1682. This was a prominent family with ties to William Penn, the Quaker Church (Ann Stone Worley Pusey was one of the first women preachers in America) and the state of Pennsylvania. Family members soon spread to Western Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and then beyond. There was also a German Worley line.
