I would like to welcome Jill Ruggiero as new member #414 to the Sackett Family Association. I gave a quick glance at Thurmon's database and found Fritz Arthur Sackett. I can see that you have loads of cousins in the Association already, Jill!
You would have had plenty to see and do at the last reunion in Westfield, MA! I also see from the database that Reuban Sackett (our immediate line) signed for the minor, Almeron Sackett (your immediate line). Small world! It seems that Almeron also lived for a time in Sackett's Harbor. That is one place that we have also discussed having a reunion.
Welcome to the group! I hope that you get a chance to visit with Thurmon and can compare notes with him on your line.
I would like to welcome new member, Toni Sackett Reyes, as member #413.
Toni, I took a quick peek at Thurmon's database and did not find the individuals that you had mentioned in your note to Jean. I hope that armed with more information, you had better luck than I did. This is a great organization and there are any number of people that are so willing to help. Good luck in finding your connections!!
As I was looking for some other information on a brick wall, I ran
across this Index on family search.org, it is in the United States
Collection of Files/records.
United States , War of 1812, Index to service records , 1812-1815, the
names of Sackett participants can be found on roll indexed Russ-Sai,
images 1993 through 2008.
These will give the information needed to recover the service record
files from the National Archives.
I would like to welcome long time mailing list member, Bev Rayburn, as new member #412. I'm glad that we have you on our membership rolls now, Bev! It's a great organization and we welcome anyone with an interest in the Sackett family.
I would like to welcome Scott Denver Sackett, new member #411, from Ohio. Welcome to the world of genealogy! You will find that it is pretty addictive! When you discover something new, you just want to reach out and have the first person you see, be as excited as you are. In like circumstances, when you find something you were pretty sure of, dashed, that's a bummer!! Well this organization is here to help. I hear that you have already done some searching on Thurmon's database, enjoy, there's tons more to learn!!!
I would like to welcome Tyler Visser, new member #410 to the Sackett Family Association. I see that Chris already has you welcomed on the web site but I would like to add my greeting to you as well. I know that you will find our organization quite a helpful group. Welcome!
